I had a post before with various unfinished paintings. Here is one of the finished paintings. It is an oil painting I did for my mother. She asked for a large painting to hang over a couch. She doesn’t find my other paintings very appealing, and so in this one I left out the human figure and substituted with a large Koi fish. A Koi fish swimming upwards is supposed to represent good luck, of being triumphant over obstacles. In my mind, the painting is both underwater and yet not. The blue in the back could be water…but I also like to think of it as a tree. What do you think?
